The entire altar or sanctuary represents to me, one's earthly journey
towards acknowledgement of the Divine Presence within Self. The reason
we are here is to manifest the Divine Presence in matter.
1) The Divine Mother, Mary the Virgin, "Mater" or bringing
the Christ into "Matter" is the central figure of the altar. She
gives birth to the Divine Presence; see the Christ Child in her arms. She
represents the Divine Feminine energy and holds the balance with the masculine
Christic energies of St. Anthony and St. Francis of Assisi who were total
expressions of the Divine Presence. Note the stars, clouds and cosmic sky at
the Mother's feet. Note also the serpent which I see as the coiled kundalini
power at the base of the spine - anxiously awaiting the holy movement from the
base-of-the-spine chakra.
2) The Archangel with the Cosmic Crystal Central Sun Sphere raises
it in tribute to the Divine Presence in each of us. The sphere can represent
many things - such as enlightenment, wholeness, purity.
3) The Buddha [of pure gold brought to me from a temple in Thailand]
is the Divine Presence. To me, he is a dear friend and teacher.
4) The amethyst grapes represent the Violet Flame of Divine
Presence. The grapes also represent wine which gives nourishment, quenches the
thirst and provides a sense of well-being. In spiritual context, this would be
the energies of light, love, peace and balance which fill our being with
spiritual healing.
5) The green Connemara marble rosary of Ireland represents the
power, beauty and peace of the Emerald Isle (since this green marble is
quarried there). The rosary is obviously a powerful tool of The Mother. When
recited with a group of people it is particularly powerful as the Hail Mary is
a powerful mantra which enables the energy to move up the kundalini and
benefit all. The Silver Cross of the Crucified Christ is a symbol of our
Redemption and expresses much more.
6) The crystals and stones [6] are from places all over the world
[including pink rose quartz from Crestone, CO] and add to the power of the
setting.
7) The plate with roses on the wall signifies our collective Spirit
Hearts which are the Center from which we expand our awareness of Divine
Presence.
