Excellent views of the very sacred and quite famous Mt. Wai'ale'ale are available from the property. Fresh fruit is often available for the picking as well.  We have jabon [Chinese grapefruit], oranges, lemons, limes, kumquat, coffee and banana that are producing fruit, and papaya, starfruit, lychee and avocado that have not yet reached maturity.

This is a smoke-free and fragrance-free zone. Many of our guests are environmentally and chemically sensitive, as are we. We thus strive to clean and maintain the buildings and property here with a minimum of chemicals and artificial fragrances. As such, we do not allow burning of incense, smudge, sage or moxsa inside the buildings, and prohibit smoking of all sorts indoors and outdoors. The cottage is kept exceptionally clean and in good repair, and is a very pleasant place to stay. Spiritual retreatants will find that the privacy and solitude here are very conducive to deep meditations and other inner spiritual work, as is the energy of this place. Children and pets are not allowed unless you receive special written permission from us to bring them, and there could be additional costs involved. Up to 2 extra persons [for a total of 4] can stay here. The 2 extra persons sleep on the combination sitting-sleeping benches in the living-dining area. These are quite comfortable, and long enough for people up to about 6' 4" tall. We have regular twin bedding and sleeping pillows and blankets for those times that extra guests stay at Pihanakalani Cottage. The spiritual energy here is also very special and quite powerful.
